1 kg mashed potatoes

0.5 tsp nutmeg

1 pinch salt

1 pinch pepper

50 g butter

100 ml milk

Tips

The variety of potatoes is essential: preferably choose Agata or Bintje. The cooking time varies according to the variety of potato.

RECIPE STEPS

Peel and cut the potatoes into 2 to 3 cm cubes. Rinse them and then place into the steamer basket.

Pour 0.5 L of water into the metal bowl and place the steamer basket on top. Run the program

Extend the cooking of the potatoes if necessary by rerunning the program.

Empty the metal bowl of the cooking water.

Fit the whisk in the metal bowl. Place all the ingredients in and run the program.

Tastes good but unsuccessful with consistency which might be to do with using different potato variety (Vivaldi) and not checking potatoes cooked. Important to check potatoes cooked after steaming. I used Puréed soup to fix and made smooth baby pototo mash instead!

A pretty good consistency and I was pleased this was the first thing I made in my Cook Expert. I think next time I'll cut the potatoes uniformly, steam a bit longer and mix a bit longer.

This was easy and not stodgy as I expected. There was tiny soft lumps so could have whisked a little longer.
