1 sachet of dry baker's yeast (5 g)

120 ml of milk

325 g of plain flour

1 tsp of salt

25 g of soft butter

1 of egg

50 g of sugar

15 ml milk

40 g butter

40 g brown sugar

RECIPE STEPS

Add the yeast into the milk and stir with a fork until fully dissolved. Leave to rest for 10 minutes.

Add the flour, salt, butter, egg, sugar and dissolved yeast into the bowl fitted with the dough hook. Switch on the machine and run for 30 seconds until the dough forms a ball.

  • 50 g of sugar
  • 120 ml of milk

Flour your hands and transfer the dough to a large bowl and cover with cling film. Leave to rise for 1 hour 30 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 190°C. On a floured work surface, knock back the dough and use a rolling pin to roll it out to a thickness of 1.5 cm.

Use a cookie cutter (about 4cm in diameter) to cut circles in the dough and place them on the baking tray covered with baking paper.

Leave the dough for 30 minutes under a dry cloth, at room temperature and away from drafts.

Using a pastry brush, brush the dough with milk and then bake for 10 minutes. Once baked, brush the doughnuts with melted butter and brown sugar.
