500 ml red wine

1 kg beef chuck

2 garlic clove

1 pinch salt

1 pinch pepper

2 tsp veal stock

3 tbsp oil

3 carrot

1 onion

2 tbsp of tomato purée

150 g smoked lardons or bacon

4 tbsp cornflour

200 ml water

2 tsp herbs de provence

Tips

Depending on the cut of meat, you may need to adjust the cooking time. For a quicker version, reduce or even eliminate the marinade time. You can add a bit of ginger to enhance the taste. You can also accompany your bourguignon beef with button mushrooms and spring onions in the pan.

RECIPE STEPS

Start the day before; cut the beef into large cubes (3 to 4cm) and leave to marinate in the red wine.
  • 1 kg beef chuck
  • 500 ml red wine

On the same day, place the diced lardons/bacon, oil, onion and garlic in the metal bowl. Run the program.

Add the beef (set aside the marinade). Run the program.

Chop the carrots into 1cm pieces. Dilute the cornflour in 4 tbsp of marinade and the beef stock in 200ml warm water.

Add the ingredients into the bowl and season with salt and pepper. Cover everything with the beef stock and the marinade, the meat should be just covered. Run the program.
