1 kg potatoes

600 g minced beef

1 tbsp breadcrumbs

3 sprigs of parsley

1 pinch nutmeg

1 pinch of salt

1 pinch of pepper

50 g butter

1.5 tbsp olive oil

100 ml semi-skimmed milk

3 onions

50 g of gruyère

RECIPE STEPS

Quarter the onions and place into the metal bowl. Run the programme.

If necessary, scrape down the wall of the bowl. Wash and chop the parsley. Add to the bowl along with the meat and olive oil. Run the programme.

Set aside. Pour 0.5L water into the metal bowl and install the steamer basket.

Cut the potatoes in 3-4cm cubes, rinse in cold water and place in the steamer basket. Run the programme.

Check that the potatoes are completely cooked and, if not, continue cooking.

Discard the cooking liquid in the metal bowl and install the whisk. Add the ingredients and run the programme.

  • 50 g of gruyère
  • 1 pinch nutmeg

To obtain the desired consistency, increase the time and/or add a little more milk. Set aside.

Heat the oven to 210 °C.

Brush an ovenproof dish with the remaining butter and put the meat mixture into it. Spread the mashed potatoes on top, smooth the surface with a spatula.

Sprinkle with the breadcrumbs and bake for 20 minutes until golden brown.

followed to a T the meat looked like someone chewed it and it was so bland no flavour bottom of dish took some scrubbing and soaking to clean meat was stewed

I have just cooked the Cook Expert recipe; FRENCH-STYLE COTTAGE PIE. I was looking for something tasty. I followed this recipe to the letter. As an experienced cook. I was suspicious that this recipe sounded a bit bland. However l continued to the end. It was a mistake to cook it. My family refused to eat it. It looked good, but it was tasteless and uninteresting. Disappointed. Marlêne Cantan-Ta
