750 g pitted cherries

4 eggs

150 g sugar

2 sachets vanilla sugar

50 g butter

200 ml milk

200 ml single cream

200 g ground almonds

30 g plain flour

Preheat your oven to 180°C (gas mark 4). Melt the butter over a low heat and set aside.

Place the eggs in the Blender with the caster sugar and vanilla sugar. Run the programme: speed 2/10 seconds then speed 3/20 seconds.

  • 150 g sugar
  • 2 sachets vanilla sugar

Add the milk, cream and melted butter, followed by the ground almonds, flour and a pinch of salt. Run the programme: speed 1/30 seconds.
  • 50 g butter
  • 200 ml milk
  • 200 ml single cream
  • 200 g ground almonds
  • 30 g plain flour

Generously butter a tin.

Arrange the cherries so that they cover the base of the tin and pour the mixture on top. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes.

Serve warm or cold. You can replace the fresh cherries with a jar of sour cherries.
