2 garlic cloves

500 g beef mince

800 g whole peeled tomatoes in juice

100 g red wine

25 g tomato purée

1 tsp salt

2 chicken broth

1 leaf bay leaf

1 sprig thyme

500 g full fat milk

50 g butter

50 g plain flour

1 pinch pepper

1 pinch salt

400 g spinach

50 g cheddar

25 g parmesan

12 lasagne sheets

For the bolognese sauce, cut the carrot & celery into approx. 3-4cm pieces & add to the metal bowl along with the onion & garlic. Scrape down the sides & run EXPERT 20secs/Speed 13/0C.

Add the oil and run STIR FRY 8mins/Speed 2A/160C.

Add the red wine & run STIR FRY 8mins/Speed 2A/120C, cap off.

Add the tinned tomatoes, followed by the remaining ingredients, roughly breaking up the beef into pieces when adding to the metal bowl. Stir with the spatula, making sure all the meat is coated with the tomato sauce. Run EXPERT 30mins/Speed 0/100C.

For the bechamel, simply add all the ingredients to the metal bowl & run EXPERT 16mins/Speed4/95°C.

Preheat oven to 160C Fan.

Blanch the spinach in boiling water, cool immediately in cold water, drain and squeeze out the excess water. Line the bottom of a ceramic baking dish (approx. 30x22x6cm) with 1/3 bolognese, add sheets of pasta to cover the bolognese, followed by 1/3 of the spinach. Repeat the layers twice and finish with the bechamel sauce and sprinkle with the 2 cheeses.

Bake for 50mins until the top is golden brown. Let the Lasagna rest for 30mins before serving.
