120 g date roughly chopped

120 ml water

0.5 tsp bicarbonate of soda

100 g brown sugar

40 g butter

1 egg

75 g self-raising flour

30 g plain flour

180 ml double cream

100 g brown sugar

50 g butter

RECIPE STEPS

Soak dates in boiling water with bicarbonate of soda for 15min.
  • 120 g date roughly chopped
  • 180 ml double cream
  • 0.5 tsp bicarbonate of soda

Cream together butter & sugar. Add egg & combine
  • 100 g brown sugar
  • 50 g butter
  • 1 egg

Add flours & date mixture, stir to combine.
  • 75 g self-raising flour
  • 30 g plain flour

Place mixture into 4-6 ramekins.

Steam at 100 degrees for 20min.

For sauce combine cream, sugar & butter in a small saucepan on low. Simmer for 10min stirring occasionally.
